Lead, zinc, and iron are other named elements. Phosphor bronze alloys are notable for their toughness, strength, good conductivity, and low coefficient of friction.

Typical applications for phosphor bronze include bearings, bushings, gears, pinions, shafts, thrust washers, and valve parts. C51000 Phosphor bronze can be readily brazed or soldered.
